In loving memory of Morag Styles VALERIE BLOOM 'Myself in a Poem' 5pm, Thursday 17th April
Homerton College, Cambridge PLEASE NOTE THE NEW DATE We are were all greatly saddened that the founder of the Philippa Pearce Lecture, Morag Styles, died in December 2024.
This year's lecture will therefore be held in loving memory of Morag and in celebration of her life and work. Morag was Professor of Children's Poetry at the University of Cambridge, and one of her proudest achievements was the Caribbean Poetry Project, which brought together poets, scholar and teachers from the Caribbean and the UK. So we are thrilled to announce that Valerie Bloom will be our speaker for this special event. Please note that this lecture is aimed at an adult audience and may not be suitable for children. Juno Dawson was unable to give this year's lecture, as previously announced, so this event will take place on a future date.
