2012: Malorie Blackman

THE 2012 LECTURE was given by Malorie Blackman and was entitled, 21st Century Storytelling: Will the advent of new technology create a paradigm shift in the writing and reading of children’s literature?

Malorie Blackman is the distinguished author of Noughts and Crosses and many other popular and well received books for young people. Her many awards include the Children’s Book Award, the WH Smith Mind-Boggling Books Award and the Young Telegraph/Gimme 5 Award. Her work has been shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal and adapted for successful radio and screen productions, including a BAFTA award for Pig Heart Boy. Malorie received an OBE for her services to Children’s Literature in 2008.
