THE INAUGURAL Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture took place in the Auditorium of the Mary Allan Building, Homerton College, Cambridge, at 5:00pm on Thursday 11th September 2008. At the event, there were three main presentations:

Victor Watson: Philippa Pearce - Word Perfect
David Wood: Taking Tom from Page to Stage
Julia Eccleshare: Time and Place: Shaping the Creative Landscape

Alongside the main talks there were several readings from Philippa Pearce’s books, by Samuel West. Additionally, in the college library, there was a small display of typescripts, illustrations and ephemera relating to Philippa Pearce's books.
